Dani Olmo & Pau Victor to continue for Barcelona as La Liga appeal rejected.
Barcelona Win Off the Pitch as Olmo and Victor Cleared to Play
Barcelona has secured another off-field victory as Pau Victor and Dani Olmo have been officially cleared to continue playing for the club, following the rejection of La Liga’s appeal regarding their registration status.
The Higher Sports Council (CSD) had ruled last week that both players were eligible to play for the remainder of the season—a decision met with strong disapproval from La Liga president Javier Tebas. In response, La Liga filed an appeal and requested precautionary measures in an attempt to overturn the ruling.
However, as reported by AS, the Administrative Court has now denied La Liga’s request to suspend the CSD’s verdict, allowing the duo to remain available for selection without restriction.
A Setback for Tebas, Relief for Laporta
The outcome represents a significant setback for Tebas, who has been under growing pressure and criticism—especially from Barcelona president Joan Laporta, who accuses him of deliberately attempting to destabilize the club during a crucial phase of the season.
Laporta has consistently pointed to what he perceives as biased actions aimed at interfering with Barcelona’s momentum, suggesting a broader political battle behind the scenes of Spanish football.
Focus Back on Football
Despite the ongoing off-field tensions, Barcelona continues to perform with conviction on the pitch. Their midweek triumph over Borussia Dortmund has strengthened their position in all three competitions they remain involved in, demonstrating resilience in the face of administrative distractions.
With the cloud of uncertainty around Olmo and Victor now cleared, manager Hansi Flick will be pleased to focus solely on maintaining the team’s form as they push for silverware on multiple fronts.
